M↗THE MILLCIVIC ATLAS / EDITION 01
FIELD OFFICE / ALEX BOYA

Who keeps
the city
alive?

The Mill promises bread. The city makes that promise inhabitable—through pipes, shared tables, narrow passages and people who stay.

03 / EIGHT DISTRICT NOTES

How the city
holds together.

District boundaries simplify the drawing. Food, water, obligations and memories continually cross them.

04 / THE ATLAS IS AN ARGUMENT

Measure the journey.
Then ask who
it leaves outside.

A machine can work while a passage fails. A meal can arrive while a person goes hungry. An institution can hold complete documents while losing the life they describe. These are the discrepancies this atlas follows.

One world, another reading.

Bread Will Walk is Alex Boya’s animated short. Its reversal—bread becoming a vulnerable body—gives this city a moral pressure: Magret’s care for Gerben is the intimate measure of what a system costs.

This Cloudflare edition newly frames the places and relationships developed at themill.world as a civic inquiry. Each dossier contains a function, a point of failure and an imagined intervention. These are original fictional web notes, not documented film scenes, real planning advice or official municipal findings.

The place names, spatial relationships and artwork come from the source world. The dossier language, district essays, route tool and interface were composed for this edition. Artwork by Alex Boya.
